Once a month I get on Zoom with filmmakers and producers for 90 minutes. You bring your project and the thing you're stuck on, and we work through it together, live.
I'll also show you what's working in my own film business right now (and what isn't), and you'll get to know the other filmmakers on the call.
I'm Daren Smith, founder of Craftsman Films. I've produced five features, and four were released in theaters. The most recent is Brotherhood: A Cinematic Musical, which we're releasing ourselves. Before it opened, we took it to 18 cities for 16 tour stops and 3 premieres. I also host the Truly Independent podcast and wrote the book BLOCKBUSTER.
What we talk about
Every call gets into some part of the framework from BLOCKBUSTER. Its five parts spell out MOVIE (yes, it's on the nose):
- Mindset
- Outcomes & Offers
- Visibility
- Implement Systems
- Expand Impact
The next call
Tuesday, October 27, 2026, 3 to 4:30 pm Mountain Time (5 pm Eastern, 2 pm Pacific).
It's three days before Brotherhood's wider release on October 30, so you'll catch me right in the middle of it!
Your first call is on me. Luma sends you the Zoom link once you register.
If you want to keep coming after that, join the Craftsman Fellowship. You'll get every monthly live call, and the full replay library is yours the day you join. Join for the year and you also get a 30-minute one-on-one with me and a copy of BLOCKBUSTER.
Past calls are below, and the newest ones are on the replays page. If you're a Fellowship member, sign in and they'll all open for you.
